The Department of Information Technology, Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad, in association with the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (IEEE SSIT) Hyderabad Section Chapter, is organizing a one-day awareness workshop titled “AI & CyberSafe Future: Design Thinking for Responsible AI and Cyber Security Awareness among K–12 Students” on 27 June 2026 at the CBIT/ Designated School, Hyderabad.

The program is funded by the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (IEEE SSIT) under the Member-Driven Education Initiative (MDEI) – SSIT Formation Week 2026 Pilot Program.

The workshop aims to create awareness among school students on the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence, cyber safety, digital citizenship, and design thinking-based problem-solving. As emerging technologies increasingly influence education, communication, and daily life, it is essential for young learners to understand both the opportunities and challenges associated with AI-driven digital ecosystems.

The program will feature expert sessions, interactive discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities covering:

• Responsible Artificial Intelligence and Ethics
• Introduction to Generative AI and Emerging Technologies
• Cyber Security Awareness and Safe Digital Practices
• Digital Citizenship and Responsible Online Behaviour
• Design Thinking for Innovation and Problem Solving
• AI for Social Good and Future Career Opportunities
• The workshop is open to K–12 students (Classes V–XII) aged 10 years and above. Participation is free of cost, and registrations will be accepted on a First-Come, First-Served (FCFS) basis, limited to 100 participants.
• Through this initiative, CBIT and IEEE SSIT aim to empower young learners with the knowledge, awareness, and skills required to become responsible digital citizens, informed technology users, and future innovators capable of leveraging technology for societal benefit.
